Team Reacts to Narrow Win in Oklahoma City
The Dallas Mavericks pulled out a hard-fought 105-101 victory in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. The win gives the Mavs a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series, and they will now head back to Dallas for Game 4 on Saturday night.
The Mavs were led by Luka Doncic, who finished with 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Kristaps Porzingis added 22 points and 12 rebounds, and Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 17 points. The Thunder were led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 32 points.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than 10 points. The Thunder took a 5-point lead with just over three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Mavs rallied to tie the game with just over a minute to go. Doncic then hit a jumper with 20 seconds remaining to give the Mavs the lead for good.
After the game, Doncic said that he was proud of the way his team fought back in the fourth quarter. "We never gave up," he said. "We kept fighting, and we got the win."
The Mavs will now face the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals. The Suns are the No. 1 seed in the West, and they have the best record in the NBA this season. The two teams will meet in Game 1 of the series on Monday night in Phoenix.
