Warriors Fall to Kings in NBA Play-In Tournament
Curry's Record-Breaking Performance Not Enough to Save Golden State
Sacramento Advances, Warriors Season Ends
In a thrilling game that came down to the final minutes, the Sacramento Kings defeated the Golden State Warriors 118-94 in the first round of the 2024 NBA Play-In Tournament. Despite a record-breaking performance from Stephen Curry, the Warriors were unable to overcome a strong effort from the Kings, who will now advance to the next round.
Curry finished the game with 50 points, breaking his own record for most points scored in a Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs. However, the Warriors were unable to get much production from the rest of their team, as Curry accounted for nearly half of their total points.
The Kings, on the other hand, were led by a balanced scoring attack, with six players finishing in double figures. De'Aaron Fox led the way with 27 points, while Domantas Sabonis added 19 points and 15 rebounds.
The Warriors' loss marks the end of their season, while the Kings will now face the winner of the Suns-Timberwolves game in the next round of the Play-In Tournament. The Kings will be looking to continue their momentum and earn a spot in the NBA Playoffs for the first time since 2006.
